Presentations at the Annual Convention of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association 2024
We presented three papers at ASHA 2024 convention held at Seattle, WA. Dr. Serena Helman presented her capstone project. Drs. Dhatri Devaraju and Nike Gnanateja presented their work on speech perception and cognitive abilities in individuals who stutter.

Presenting at the 51st Annual Scientific and Technology Conference of the American Auditory Society
From Scottsdale, Arizona! We presented two posters at the 51st Annual Scientific and Technology Conference of the American Auditory Society held from February 15 – 17, 2024. One of the posters explored the role of timescale of temporal fine structure in speech perception. The second poster was aimed at examining the oscillatory mechanisms underlying syllable perception during increased attention and working memory demands.


Serena Helman receives the Student Research Grant in Audiology given by the ASHFoundation
Huge congratulations to Serena Helman , a third-year audiology student! Serena’s research proposal, “Evaluating the importance of the timescale of the fine structure of speech that is important for intelligibility in difficult listening situations” has been chosen for the 2023 Student Research Grant in Audiology by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Foundation (ASHFoundation). Serena is collaborating on this exciting project with G. Nike Gnanateja in the lab.
